Philanthrogeek OUT Bay Area Beta
Come test out a new event format with Philanthrogeek. We are exploring a monthly event format - Philanthrogeek OUT - and this will be the first one. In the spirit of the gift economy, space and light refresments will be offered thanks to our host and sponsor (see below). If you'd like to enjoy wine or beer, please bring some (and enought to share, if you can).
The first rule of Philanthrogeek OUT is nobody pitches! The second rule...
You get the idea. We want to create a comfortable, casual space where people with philanthropy, investment, AND fundraising expertise can meet and mix, regardless of whether they are seeking funds, creating funding platforms, or seeking opportunities to provide funds.
Come to discuss the process, perils, and promise of the funding landscape, no matter where you make your home in it.
Generously hosted by SF Embassy House (sf.embassynetwork.com) with a refreshments sponsorship offered by the Bay Area chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP - www.epip.org/chapters/bay-area), Philanthrogeek OUT will feature very brief comments from the hosts, but otherwise you'll be free to mingle with the crowdfunders, giving circle organizers, fundraising data geeks, social entrepreneurs, new economic thinkers and makers, and the other philanthropy innovators who gravitate to our events.
