Double EE Festival
Double EE celebrates two Oregon-made classicsbEEr and chEEsethat are fantastic on their own but doubly delicious when paired together. This inaugural cheese and beer event is Saturday, November 9 at Oregon State University near the fermentation science program's laboratories. Members of the Oregon Brewers Guild and Oregon Cheese Guild collaborate to ferment ultimate pairings between partner creameries and breweries. Double EE features a morning session competition wherein brewers and cheese makers present their creations--and story behind their inspiration--to a panel of judges including Cheese Bar proprietor and Best Cheesemonger award-winner Steve Jones and Janet Fletcher, food writer for San Francisco Chronicle and author of Cheese & Beer. The afternoon festival session allows for tasting the beers and cheeses and more in a farmers market style setting with products available for purchase.
