Celebrate the life of Duke Ellington with an evening of music history and live jazz. Terry Teachout, author of DUKE: A LIFE OF DUKE ELLINGTON will be at the recently renovated Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club. Teachout, the drama critic at the Wall Street Journal and author of POPS: A LIFE OF LOUIS ARMSTRONG will discuss his latest book. A jazz quartet playing some of Ellington's classic songs will follow the reading. Teachout's writing has spanned many types of art, including an original play and liner notes for Diana Krall.
During this special evening copies of DUKE will be available for purchase. Food and drink will also be for sale.
