To celebrate the release of the upcoming Super XX Man album, Volume XII: Therell Be Diamonds (out now on Tender Loving Empire http://www.tenderlovingempire.com), Scott Garred the singer/songwriter who has been playing under the name Super XX Man for the past 13 years has put together a special evening of music, art and camaraderie.
The evening begins at 7pm with an art reception, featuring original works by Brian Oaster (including the evocative cover art for Volume XII), Chad Crouch (Hush Records impresario) and others. DJ Strunk & White, just back from a whirlwind tour of Afghanistan and Pakistan, will provide pre-show music.
Starting off the evening will be folk/blues/country outfit Shoeshine Blue (featuring the vocals of Super XX Man member Ali Wesley) and minimalist rockers Team Evil (featuring members of Point Juncture WA).
Sponsorship for the evening is provided by opbmusic. This venture of Oregon Public Broadcasting provides a 24/7 stream of the best alternative, rock, pop, indie and singer-songwriters at opbmusic.org, an HD radio channel (KOPB 91.5-2) and live broadcasts on OPBs FM stations on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 9pm to midnight.
