Based on the novel "Séance on a Wet Afternoon" by Mark McShane
MERCY STREET takes place over three days in March 1951 in a row house in South Philadelphia. Mary Parsons, a professional medium, holds séances for clients twice a week with the help of her husband Joe, an asthmatic who is unable to work due to his condition. To ensure their future Mary hatches a plan with Joe to prove her abilities by providing the police and the public with information regarding a local kidnapping. Success is within reach when the child's mother comes to Mercy Street for a séance and Mary and her talent have the attention they deserve. Unfortunately this séance will change Mary's plan and everyone's lives forever.
