Skara Brae was released by Gael-Linn Records in 1971 and featured Triona, Maighread, Daithi and the late Micheal O Domhnaill. Fans of band member Micheal O Domhnaill were grief stricken at his untimely passing in 2006, but will be thrilled with the opportunity to see his legacy live on in this rare reunion concert.
It is considered to be one of the most influential albums in its genre with its Irish Gaelic songs and exquisite vocal harmonies. With musical careers that span more than three decades, you will hear three of Ireland's finest traditional singers accompanied by the incomparable keyboard playing of Triona, and guitar accompaniment of Daithi Sproule, considered by many to be among the fathers of the use of DADGAD tuning in Irish music.
Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill has also been a member of The Bothy Band, Relativity, Touchstone, and Nightnoise.
Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill is recognized for her distinctive sean-nos style of singing. She has collaborated often with Triona and most recently in the group, "T with the Maggies".
Dáithí Sproule is well known as one of Irish music's most respected guitar accompanists and singers. He is a member of Altan, Trian, Fingal, and has accompanied numerous musicians, such as Tommy Peoples, Liz Carroll, and Paddy O'Brien.
