The Craft-Brewed and Fine Food Festival on the Beach
Perdido Beach Resort and SanRoc Cay Marina to hold "The Craft-Brewed and Fine Food Festival on the Beach" to benefit the Jacob Mogan Fund.
On Saturday September 21st join some of the State's most well-known breweries at the Perdido Beach Resort for a late afternoon festival featuring artisanal craft beers and special food pairings with all proceeds benefiting the Jacob Mogan Fund. The event will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the Beach Deck and will include live music by 30 North, an exciting new local band. Kevin Corcoran, Broker/Owner of Re/Max Gulf Shores and Chairman of the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce, will be serving as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
Chef John Hamme, Executive Chef at Perdido Beach Resort, said "We are very excited to be able to host this event for such a deserving young man and family. Our goal is to pair an eclectic grouping of craft beers from throughout the State with food pairings using local produce, Conecuh sausage, Alabama seafood and other locally acquired fresh food items. We want to showcase the outstanding selection of craft beer available in Alabama, many of which can now be found in select locations on the Gulf Coast."
Sous Chef Brandon Burleson, said "I've had a relationship with Back 40 Brewery for a number of years and believe that a successful Chef gives back to his community. When reviewing possible fall charity events we realized there was no more deserving beneficiary than the Jacob Mogan Fund. I received amazing support from the hotel ownership and began to work with a group of volunteers to help put this together. Local support has been over-whelming and our volunteer group has truly made this a reality."
Director of Operations at Perdido Beach Resort, Tony Marzullo, added "We are focused on being a strong contributor to the local community. When discussing serving as host for this charity event I believe we all recognized that the Mogan family gives a tremendous amount to this area and we wanted to be able to give something back in their time of need. We are humbled to be able to do this for Jacob and look forward to hosting a successful afternoon with all proceeds going to the Jacob Mogan Fund."
"We are excited to partner with Perdido Beach Resort in sponsoring this event" said Patti Link, General Manager of SanRoc Cay Marina. "As part of the Orange Beach Entertainment District this is a great chance to support a very worthy cause by joining with the hotel in hosting this fundraiser. Being able to do something this meaningful brings a whole new level to what an Entertainment District should be."
Participating Breweries include Back 40 Brewery from Gadsden, Blue Pants Brewery from Madison, AL, Fairhope Brewery, Good People Brewery from Birmingham and Straight to Ale from Huntsville. Each will have unique food pairings matched perfectly with the breweries offerings. Wine, cocktail and other refreshment stations also will be located throughout the tent along with big screen televisions donated by Gulf Coast Audio/Visual for those football fans who can't miss a moment of the game.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the event and may be purchased through the Perdido Beach Resort Guest Services department (251.981.9811), the businesses of SanRoc Cay Marina or ReMax offices located in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.
