Slow Feast in the Field
Join us for the 6th Annual Slow Feast in the Field benefiting Austin Discovery School. It is an evening of fresh local food and drinks served in the field under twinkling stars at Green Gate Farm, a small, historic farm in East Austin. Guests will tour the grounds, participate in a stellar silent auction, and sit down to a slow feast, fresh from the field prepared by local chefs Madeline and Ben Willcott. Madeline has worked in food for many years, including as a teacher at the Natural Epicurian. Ben has worked in restaurants in New York, San Francisco and Austin, including as chef of Texas French Bread's farm to table dinner. Their catering / personal chef venture is Dinner Party (www.dinnerpartyaustin.com.)
Slow Feast is sponsored by Slow Food Austin and Green Gate Farms and benefits the diverse programs at Austin Discovery including:
The EcoWellness program which prepares students to receive their Junior Master Gardener certification. Friday Nature Hikes on the 200 acre school grounds. Continued arts instruction by our highly qualified music and art teachers.
Funds raised through this event directly impact students' lives and the future of our community.
Join us for this beautiful event and help support homegrown education!
