A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM with Jimmy Ryan and the Lighthouse All Stars at the Lighthouse 4 Cinemas, Pacific Grove, CA 93950
Lighthouse 4 Cinemas presents a unique event melding America's only two indigenous art forms, JAZZ & FILM.
Our program features the live performance of Jimmy Ryan's Lighthouse All Stars and the screening of the Academy Award nominated (1995)documentary film, "A Great Day In Harlem".
This amazing film by Jean Bach and Matthew Seig and narrated by Quincy Jones features interviews with Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins and a host of other Jazz greats who were part of the Art Kane iconic 1958 photograph and is interspersed with exciting, rare musical performances and fun home movies by bassist, Milt Hinton and his wife, Mona.
A raffle will be held for many prizes and gift certificates.
Wine will be available in the lobby for a suggested donation.
Doors will open at 6:00PM. The live music starts at 6:30PM.
Tickets: $20 General/$18 for Military, Students and Seniors.
