Don White and the Loomers
Yes boys and girls my show with The Loomers is finally returning to our home away from home Worcester Mass. We played in that fabulous town annually for 15 years until our venue was sold a few years ago. So we are thrilled beyond words to be returning to see all our Central Mass friends again this Fall. I have a good feeling about this one!
Having Don White and the Loomers together is a rare treat. White only plays a handful of dates a year with the group, and in select venues.
White's relationship with the Loomers stretches back fifteen years, when he met them playing a birthday party. White was on the lookout for a band with a lot of personality that could help him flesh out the stories he tells, and without drowning him in a wall of sound. The Loomers were a perfect fit.
"The thing that everybody worries about when you're a solo performer is that you'll get buried in the band," says White. "What I wanted was a group that could extend or build upon the theatrical nature of the performance. I thought about all of those great bands Zappa had where he would give them dialogue and characters."
