Essential Electives is a series of six unique workshops that will focus on a different topic each week, taught by OKC Improv instructors. You may enroll in all six for a major discount, or you may take one or more Essential Electives workshops for only $20 apiece!
Burst into song all the way with Kyle Gossett, Buck, and Clint Vrazel, creators of musical longforms such as Villain: The Musical!, Off-Book, Night Rhymers, and Twinprov This intensive offers short-form musical games, vocal technique, rhyming, choruses, character-through-music, long-form musical improvisation, and genre study. This immersion is perfect for those looking to challenge themselves with a more advanced form of improvisation that guarantees to strengthen traditional improv skills as well as provide rewarding experiences with the art of "singprov."
You'll learn a series of musical techniques and concepts that will convert your improv knowledge into musical form and have you running to the front of the stage to belt unforgettable improvised songs through emotional grounding, motifs, and recognizing song structures. You'll learn how to create instant choreography, skills for solo, duet, and ensemble numbers, and tricks to avoid the dreaded "rhyme trap." You'll also learn how find and work with a live musician to find the songs you've always wanted to sing!
Class meets from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19th @ FastSigns in OKC.
