Beginner's Character Makeup Class and FREE screening of Men in Suits w/Skyped Director Interview
PROCEEDS BENEFIT FANS FOR LIVING A CHICAGO BASED KIDS VISUAL RATS OUTREACH. FOR MORE INFO ON FFL www.fansforliving.org

This class involves students creating their own personalized two-dimensional (as in, just paint/no-prosthetic) character designs. The first section of the class involves a tutorial on character design & how to show personality, emotional, and mental traits through the character's makeup.  Students can first draw out their designs on paper, over a generic human face. They will learn how certain features can be modified to enhance the specific personality traits that they would like their characters to have. Students will be suggested to develop a back story for each character (what specific kind of world the character lives in, what it will do in this world, how it speaks and acts, etc.). The next part of the lesson will be the application process. Students will learn the appropriate way to apply particular types of makeup, which kinds of makeup work best for certain situations, and what kinds of tools they should use for the application. Tips, tricks, and other help will be offered to make their designs more clean and professional. Each student will leave will a fully-formed character and makeup design.
