10th New York Turkish Film Festival - Munferit / Murky Waters
Anthology Film Archives New York, NY
DEBUT FILMS
SYNOPSIS Influenced by three different and independent incidents that had appeared in newspapers, Munferit (Murky Waters) combines all three stories in a little coast town. The main emotion of the film is the individuals historical stranded-ness and his long-lost chance to decide upon his own life and future. Structuring a universal story which finds its roots in Turkeys social reality, this debut film sits tight at the center of a frame that aims to visualize and make visible the sickening emotional atmosphere of todays corrupt world.
