The Laramie Project
Matthew Shepard was a 21-year-old gay male student of the University of Wyoming who was taken to the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming to be beaten, robbed, and left to die. He was found 18 hours later and officially died less than a week later. This play was created by the Members of The Tectonic Theater Project led by Moisés Kaufman who complied over 200 interviews of the residents of Laramie discussing their sentiments regarding homophobia and the culture of their community.
