The Starfolk CD Release Show in the historic Aster River Room - 8PM doors $10

The Starfolk celebrate the release of their debut self titled LP, joined by critically acclaimed Bay Area sunshine popsters The Orange Peels, and the eclectically jazz infused stylings of Minneapolis' own Jim Ruiz Set.

The Starfolk makes melody-rich chamber pop music that rocks in front man Brian Tighe's quintessentially ethereal way. Tighe fronted indie-pop darlings The Hang Ups in the 90s, co-fronts bittersweet girl-boy poppers The Owls, and plays lead guitar with the belovedly hush-toned Jeremy Messersmith. In The Starfolk, Tighe is on guitar and lead vocals; joined by Allison LaBonne (The Owls, Typsy Panthre) on bass, Jacqueline Ultan (Jelloslave, Saltee) on cello, and Stephen Ittner (The Hang Ups, The Owls) on drums. Everyone sings.
