BRICOLAGE by Megan Lynn/Asterial Dance & Catie Cuan Dance
Two New York-based dance companies, Catie Cuan Dance and Megan Lynn/Asterial Dance, present BRICOLAGE, an evening of four original Philadelphia premieres. This dynamic movement event has many inspirations, from Yeats's Byzantium and lamp lighting to consciousness and the human experience.
Asterial Dance is a professional contemporary dance company under the artistic direction of Megan Lynn. Since its formation, Asterial Dance has performed at 8 different festivals, 1 showcase, and 1 co-produced performance. The company has presented work at the Movement in C Showcase at Brooklyn Music School Playhouse, Sobers and Godley Dance Soiree at Alvin Ailey Studios, Amalgamate Artist Series at Bridge for Dance, NYC10 Showcase at Dixon Place, Hatch Performing Series at Jennifer Muller/The Works Studio, Genesis Dance Project at Tree of Life Studios, CoolNY Festival at White Wave John Ryan Theater, and Jump on the Dance Festival at Ailey Citigroup Theater.
Catie Cuan Dance is a Brooklyn-based dance company. Founded in the spring of 2013, Catie Cuan Dance presents original movement narratives, often drawing inspiration from literature, visual art, personal anecdotes, and technology. The company has performed at University Settlement's Speyer Hall, the Williamsburg Art and Historical Society's Spring Dance Festival, the Actors' Fund Arts Center, and The Tank Playroom. CCD will be premiering two new works as part of BRICOLAGE at the Fringe.
