A Far Cry Returns to Jordan Hall with "Legacy"

A Far Cry's final program entitled, "Legacy" will showcase 2 selected students of the New England Conservatory's Preparatory School joining A Far Cry in a performance of Mendelssohn's Sinfonia No. 8 in D Major for String Orchestra. The program also features the World Premiere of Reiko Yamada's "New Shadows in the Raw Light of Darkness", a piece composed for and dedicated to A Far Cry, Stravinsky's Concerto in D Major for String Orchestra and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12 in A Major, with the remarkable Austrian pianist, Markus Schirmer as soloist.

The CD features Osvaldo Golijov's Last Round for Double String Quartet and Bass, George Frideric Handel's Concerto Grosso in G Minor, op.6 no.6 and the passionate Serenade for Strings in C Major, op.48 by Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky.
