A Place at the Table Boulder
Doors open at 5:00 pm. Film starts at 6:00 pm
Hunger is a serious and often invisible problem in Colorado. Join Attention Homes and First United Methodist Church of Boulder on Sunday, August 18th at 6:00 pm for End Hunger Now Boulder! - A special event to raise awareness of hunger, obesity and poverty in Colorado and throughout America.
Featured will be a film screening of the critically-acclaimed documentary "A Place at the Table". Directors Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush examine this issue through the lens of three individuals who are struggling with food hardship, including fifth-grader Rosie from the Western Slope of Colorado. Learn how hunger and obesity pose serious economic, social and cultural implications for our nation and how food access issues could be solved once and for all if the American public decides -as we have in the past- that making healthy food available and affordable is in all of our best interests.
A moderated panel discussion will follow the film featuring local activists and hunger experts who are working to make healthy affordable food available for all families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.
