2008-2009 Season
Orchestra Seattle and the Seattle Chamber Singers, musical ensembles founded by Seattle conductor George Shangrow, celebrate thirty-nine years of music making with an exciting season of fabulous classical music to please every taste. From Bach and Handel to Rachmaninoff, Vaughan Williams, and Stravinsky, the season includes such famous works as Bach's Christmas Oratorio and St. John Passion, Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 2 with Judith Cohen and his Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola with Duo Patterson, Brahms' Requiem, Haydn's Symphony No. 87, Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 ("Pastorale"), Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with Mark Salman, Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music and Stravinsky's "The Fairy's Kiss". The purchase of season tickets will save the concert-goer 20% over the cost of single tickets, and our youth policy allows each season ticket holder to request a free youth (7 - 17) season ticket at the time of purchase.
