Anthony Martignetti signs Lunatic Heroes with musical guest Nicolas Despo
Author Anthony Martignetti and musician Nicolas Despo visit Eljay's all the way from Boston for an evening of reading, book-signing and music!

Anthony Martignetti's book, Lunatic Heroes has garnered praise from readers like Eljay's owner Chris Rickert:

"At minimum, a 3-hanky book. The pain, and the fear sensitive children go through is so present, so close to the surface in this book, it's hard not to look away. But it's a gorgeous, messy life, and in that aspect, this book is perfect."
Chris Rickert

and the slightly more well-known Neil Gaiman:

"If you never were a kid from an Italian-American family growing up in Boston, now is your chance to live, vicariously, the tribulations and tortures and triumphs of a life that, because it is true, does not need to be likely.  Miracles and monsters abound in Anthony Martignetti's memoir Lunatic Heroes: the powerlessness and tiny victories of childhood, the unbreakable bonds of family, the struggle with a Catholic world, the wary embrace of Buddhism and of peace.  Beautifully, honestly, sometimes fiercely told, these memoirs are, like Martignetti himself, unique."
Neil Gaiman
Author, Stardust, American Gods, Coraline and The Graveyard Book; Winner of Hugo, Nebula, Bram Stoker, Newbery Medal, and Carnegie Medal in Literature.

His memoir of growing up in Boston, as part of an Italian-American family will move and entertain readers, and he'll be happy to sign copies of Lunatic Heroes for our audience.

Nicolas Despo's contemporary acoustic music weaves rich melodies, penetrating lyrics, and soulful harmonies. He sings and writes with a shimmering honesty that draws the listener into a deeper experience. Nicolas' music reflects on themes that are at once timeless and timely ~ expressions of the heart and soul.

Nicolas will also have CDs for sale, which he will be happy to sign.

Our event is free, but our space is extremely small. To make sure we do not violate our building capacity limits, no one will be admitted without a ticket.
