Philadelphia's own King Britt, one of the founding fathers of contemporary electronica, broken beat and nu-jazz music, brings together his friends and collaborators for a special evening of entertainment. In the King Britt Experience, Britt knits together a diverse selection of funk, hip-hop, soul and house tracks with live accompaniment by two legendary performers, DOC GIBBS and LADY ALMA HORTON. The Experience is a multimedia and sonic adventure combining the live funkiness of Britt's Sylk130 collective and the deep dance groove of his world-famous DJ sets. On this tour the Experience will include live visuals by ABSENT PRODUCTIONS that are sure to amaze any audience.
DOC GIBBS is one of the most sought after percussionists in the music industry today. Whether he's recording, touring, or kicking it up a notch with Emeril Lagasse, Doc musically operates on an audience with funky rhythms and with his vast assortment of traditional and unusual percussion instruments.
Introduced to captive crowds via King Britt's acclaimed 1998 LP, "When The Funk Hits the Fan" as part of his groundbreaking Sylk130 collective, LADY ALMA HORTON since been catapulted to senior solo status, exemplified by the barrage of irresistible songs she's blessed with her choral magic - among them Zapp Mama's "Show Me The Way", DJ Spinna's "Chances", DKD's "Getaway", and 4Hero's "Hold It Down" and "Somethin' But Nothin'".
