LIVE CONCERT WITH HENRY KAISER (GUITAR) and RICK & BILL WALKER

SATURDAY -- JUNE 15: 8PM-- SANTA CRUZ -- Resource Center for Nonviolence

A benefit concert for community-based FREE RADIO SANTA CRUZ 101.3 FM with legendary guitarist HENRY KAISER and BILL WALKER and RICK WALKER (percussion & guitar).

HENRY KAISER is a grammy-award winning guitarist and has appeared on over 250 albums. KAISER is known as an innovative guitar player and leader among improvisational, experimental musicians. He has collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Richard Thompson, Bob Weir, Bill Laswell, Fred Frith, Terry Riley, Negativland, Michael Stipe, Diamanda Galas, John Medeski and Cecil Taylor, to name a few... KAISER is also a pioneer in the use of underwater video for scientific research and has more Antarctic under-the-ice footage in films and tv shows than any other underwater cameraperson. He received an Academy Award nomination for his work as the producer for Werner Herzog's ENCOUNTERS AT THE END OF THE WORLD and was also the underwater camera and soundtrack composer for that film.

BILL WALKER is a well known Santa Cruz-based guitarist and master in the technique of live music looping. He has performed in a number of bands including Tao Chemical and Worlds Collide and internationally with Babatunde Olatunji. Last year Bill performed as the opening act for Gambian Kora player Foday Musa Suso.

RICK WALKER is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and master percussionist/drummer.
He is also the founder of the Y2K International Live Looping Festivals, the largest international live looping festival series on the planet. He has collaborated with many artists including Bob Brozman, Ali Farke Toure, Hamza El Din and David Lyndley.
