Multi-talented reedman/vocalist, Jerry Vivino returns to The Douglas House with pianist Mitch Forman and bassist Kevin Axt. Featuring the music of some of the most prolific song writers of all time. Sax, flute clarinet, acoustic bass and piano will be featured on some of the most beautiful songs ever written. A mix of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Antonia Carlos Jobim, John Coltrane, Thad Jones, Monk and many others will be featured in this trios performance. Forman and Vivino, N.Y./ L.A. transplants team up with L.A. bassist Kevin Axt, as they give their spin on the music we all can relate to and forever cherish.
JERRY VIVINO is currently a member of the Basic Cable Band, the house band for the TBS late night program Conan. Featured on countless recordings, TV commercials and movie soundtracks, and has played with Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Son Seals, Paul Shaffer, Frankie Valli, Al Kooper, Dion, James Brown, Phoebe Snow, Donald Fagen, Dr. John, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis and the legendary Keely Smith, to name just a few. http://www.jerryvivino.com/
MITCHEL FORMAN has been recognized as one of the premier keyboardists of his generation. Forman has performed with many of the legends of traditional and contemporary jazz including Wayne Shorter, Mahavishnu Orchestra, John Scofield, Gerry Mulligan and Stan Getz. KEVIN AXT is the long-time bassist for the Tierney Sutton Band and was nominated in 2012 as co-arranger for the band. He has been a freelance musician in LA since 1982 and continues to be one of the busiest bassists in LA, playing bass on over 130 albums and in dozens of theater, film and television productions.
