Gililan Margot and Kevin Barret are two renowned Canadian artists who love to play together, but don't get to do it often enough. So they're coming together for one night only at The Pubaret to do their musical thing with each other.

Gillian is a gifted artist with an exquisite voice and an exceptional understanding of the jazz idiom. She is known for the impact she continues to have on the Canadian jazz scene and her rapidly growing reputation in the U.S.A. Her vulnerable sound and authentically creative approach to music make for unforgettable performances.

She twice received the Ella Fitzgerald Award and Scholarship for excellence in jazz. She has also performed extensively with Canada's acclaimed Afro-centric choir The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, bringing her recognition as a soloist of gospel and spiritual musics of many different cultures. Her diversified performance experience has enabled her to perform internationally, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, France, and the U.S.A. Margot has also had the rare opportunities to perform for guests such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Peter Gabriel, Anne Murray, the late Honourable Lincoln M. Alexander, and the late Oscar Peterson.

Kevin is a guitarist, band leader, musical director, producer and composer. Over his 25-year career he has worked with some of Canada's finest artists, including Molly Johnson, Lillian Allen, David Wall, Julie Michels, Kellylee Evans, Cindy Church, Daniela Nardi, Big Rude Jake, DK Ibomeka, Clifton Joseph, Lisa Lindo, Rebecca Campbell, Julie Crochetiere and Jaymz Bee's Royal Jelly Orchestra.
