Fixed A Ten Minute Play Festival
In these stories, ordinary and extraordinary wrestle with experiences of brokeness, and the deep desire to be whole. How do you reach out? Where does help come from. This festival provides a far-reaching roadmap!
Well Arts is a 13 year old 501(c)3 arts in health theatre company that facilitates writing-for-theatre workshops for people with physical illness, mental illness, or social stigma. Professional theatre directors and playwrights facilitate workshops in which participants write stories about their experiences. We audition professional actors, who perform the stories written by participants in stage readings for the general public. We partner with a variety of organizations to provide workshops: Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Portland Vet Center, OHSU, National MS Society Oregon Chapter, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Washing County Chapter, the Urban League of Portland and others.
In our Reunion Writing workshop, participants from all these past partnerships come together to continue writing and creating theatre. This festival is a collection of scripts written in our Reunion Writing Workshop!
