Los Angeles' acclaimed Urban Latin Dance Theater Company led by Ana Maria Alvarez presents an Urban Latin movement opera, engaging the tensions, commonalities, strains and histories between African Americans and Latinos. Traversing the political landscape of immigration and Hurricane Katrina, CONTRA-TIEMPO investigates compassion and peace and paints a disarming and thought-provoking critique of contemporary life and injustice.
