Venetian Gold - Music of the Venetian Ospedali of the 18th Century
A special evening of music with the Young Women's Chorus of San Francisco, Artistic Director Susan McMane, and Baroque orchestra harkens back to the ospedali (orphanages) of Venice in the 1700s. We feature music from several of these orphanages that became music conservatories where great composers wrote for young women's voices. Hear music by Italian Baroque masters Vivaldi, Porpora, Galuppi, Monteverdi and Hasse.
