Rogue Barrister Records along with Three Angels Brewing proudly presents "Summer Solstice", the ultimate pairing of ground to glass brewed beverages and independent minded musicians on the cusp of greatness. Once again, the scenic Fox River will serve as the backdrop for this unique event in historic downtown Yorkville. In combining efforts with the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce, this event stands to top last years highly successful Harvest Moon Festival.
Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons once again are planning to make this event a top stop on their summer tour and will join a stellar bill of talent for an all day Saturday concert. Early bird tickets will be $15 up to May 1st when the cost for admission will be $20. Hometown heroes, The Giving Tree Band, will headline a free concert on Friday evening to accompany free custard from Andy's Frozen Custard. Other bands scheduled to perform over the course of the two day event:
Friday: The Heavy Guilt, The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank,and Brent Brown
Saturday: Ark Life, Sturgill Simpson, Communist Daughter, Colin Lake, PHOX, Back Alley Blossoms, and Calvin Conway with more to come.
Three Angels Brewing with the help of good friends Superior Beverage will be hosting an exclusive craft beer tasting from 11:30 to 5:00 on Saturday. Participating breweries include, Brooklyn, Ommegang, Widmer Brothers, Central Waters, Kona, Redhook, Goose Island, Ale Syndicate, Uinta, Milwaukee, and Kentucky Ales. The cost of admission will include admission to the indie music concert, a commemorative glass, and (15) 2 ounce tastings. Tickets and Supplies will be limited. Additional tastings may be available for purchase while supplies last.
For the adventurous type make sure to get your reservation early for a flotilla on the Fox River from Saw-wee-kee Park to Yorkville. The launch will be from Saw-wee-kee at around 10:30 a.m. and the armada of canoes will land at the festival site at a time directly related to the ambition of the individual paddlers. Admission fees include a canoe for 2 adults (children optional), pizza donated by Rosati's pizza, and admission for two to the concert.
