| | Blue Jordan House Concert Series #4 - Maurice Mattei / Gwendolyn Speaks! |
|
 |
| Description |
An intimate venue. Two great acts. And the pleasure of not having to listen to the guy next to you talk through the whole show. Blue Jordan Records presents the 2008 Blue Jordan House Concert Series "The Living Room Shows." Part 4 of the series features the wonderfully eclectic (and rockin') Marice Mattei, along with just-off-a-long-hiatus Gwendoly Speaks:
Born in Italy, Maurice Mattei immigrated to America as a child with his family. He started writing songs in his early teen years. After the release of his first recordings in 1983 and 1988 he abandoned music to pursue photography. His interest lay primarily in documentary photography and this led him into certain social circles (Bikers, Drug addicts, Debutantes, Wrestlers, Strippers, Socialites, Celebrities, etc.) that he found to be strangely new and oddly exciting. This vast and glorious parade of life re-ignited his desire to write songs.
Mattei puts on a real show... real rock and roll performed by real people. It's a throwback to a time gone by, and is just as vital today as ever.
Singer-songwriter duo Scott Dill and Tara Fisher-Dill are the heart of Gwendolyn Speaks. Cowriters of most of the band's material, their style has been explained as "radio-friendly," "rootsy-pop," and "dreamlike." After a long hiatus, Scott and Tara are now back at it, sounding better than ever.
And all this in Norwood, Ohio - Gem of the Highlands!
