Sunday Supper with Chef Lou
Chef Lou Rook III joins Left Bank Books and Feast Magazine for a special Sunday Supper event, featuring a discussion of his new cookbook, "Rook Cooks: Simplicity at Its Finest," food from the book, and paired wine selections.
Tickets are $65 and include admittance for one person, one copy of "Rook Cooks," and food and wine. This sit-down dinner includes two courses and dessert. Chef Rook will demo recipes and share stories as dinner is served and answer questions during dessert. We'll conclude with a book signing.
Chef Rook graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in food service and lodging management and then enrolled at The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park. He then moved back to St. Louis and was hired at Cardwell's in Clayton before he and a friend started their own restaurant, Grappa. After that, he helped to open Harry's downtown and then finally joined Annie Gunn's in 1993 and has been the chef there for more than 20 years.
