Howard University's Nationally-Renowned Vocal Jazz Ensemble Afro Blue Coming to Pittsburgh!
One of the most exciting live musical events is coming to Pittsburgh on Saturday April 27, 2013 at 7:30 pm, when Howard University's nationally-renowned vocal jazz ensemble, Afro Blue, takes the stage at the August Wilson Center.

The event is being hosted by Pittsburgh's Next Generation of Music Legends (PNGML), a non-profit organization, the mission of which is to educate, preserve, collect, record and celebrate the great music legacy of Pittsburgh's past, present and future African-American musicians.  In conjunction with PNGML, N-Motion Entertainment, a company that has a focus on promoting and providing entertainment events for mature adults on a local, regional and national level, will also be hosting this event.

Afro Blue has quickly gained national attention, winning numerous awards singing music in the style of Take 6, the New York Voices and Manhattan Transfer, while adding their own unique sound. In 2011 the group was selected as one of 16 a cappella ensembles to participate in NBC's reality show competition, "The Sing Off," where they finished in the top four.  

Joining Afro Blue will be special guests Pittsburgh's own Elevations, first prize winners of the 2012 Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival and the Shady Side Academy Chamber Choir, a mixed ensemble geared toward students who want an advanced experience and who are planning to sing in college and beyond.
