To Know a Veil (Intimately)
Part two of a three-part series presented at Soapbox. The piece is an ongoing project that employs installation and sound, draws on personal interviews and research, and comes to performance through dance. The first chapter started us off in the glitz and glam of fashion. Now we invite you into a more intimate experience as performers step off the runway, peeling back barriers and heightening audience participation. Amongst true stories and stunning theatrical visuals, you can learn how to wrap a sari and what it might feel like inside a burka. First-time and returning audience are equally encouraged to come and know a veil.
To Know a Veil is conceived of and directed by Emma Crane Jaster Audio installation by Matt Pearson Beats by Unown. Links to these artists and details on the project at: www.emmajaster.com/veil
