| An evening of Old-Time American fiddle and banjo music from some of the best old-time musicians in Los Angeles. The evening begins with the Iron Mountain Stringband (Caleb Finch, Brooke Moyer, Eric Davidson). The I.M.S. has been in existence since the 60's and has recorded three albums for the Smithsonian Folkways label. Not only are they are all fine musicians but they are a great singing band as well. The Loan Hill Ramblers (Paul Jarrell, Steve Lewis, Joe Wack) have been playing together in Los Angeles for years. With Paul Jarrell's Round Peak fiddling, Steve Lewis' effortless fretted and frettless banjo work, and Joe Wack's impeccable guitar work, this band is one of the tightest Old-Time bands in L.A. And then get ready for... Sausage Grinder (David Bragger, Chris Berry, Josh Orkin, Margi Royall, Bobby Reed , Matthew Orkin). From jug bands to rags, from appalachia to parlor tunes, the Grinder plays old tunes and songs today with out losing any of the authenticity. Get ready to Bust Down! |
