Seasons is a new work from valley actor and three AriZoni winner Matthew T. Crosby (you might remember him from I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Bye Bye Birdy, Ragtime, and A Christmas Story), who put the 'first' finishing touches on the script for his senior thesis capstone at Arizona State University. Now, we are proud to announce it is finished and performance-ready.

The name of the play is Seasons. Think of it like the successful television series Cheers, only if playwright Crosby channeled in David Lindsay-Abaire (Fuddy Meers, Rabbit Hole) in his workings. Nick (Santa Claus), Bart (Saint Patrick or Ireland), Phil (Cupid), Peter (the Easter Bunny), Ferris (the Tooth Fairy), Stephanie (Mother Earth), Jack (the spirit of Halloween), Sam (Uncle Sam), Libby (Lady Liberty), Mel (the spirit of Groundhog Day), and Clyde (Chance) are all friends who reside at a popular bar named Seasons (a pub in the heart of a big city like New York or Boston). Like Cheers, they come and vent, drink, and banter. The only difference is they are all fantasy-like characters of folklore and mythology with real life problems.

The story continues on as Bart, the bar's proprietor, is in danger of losing his bar. His friends must put aside their real life problems, come to grips with their daily roles in society and legend, and find a means to rescue the bar from falling into the hands of Greed and Lust who want to turn the place into a dive. Naturally, themes of friendship, loyalty, love, growing up, the loss of innocence, and accepting one's daily responsibilities are explored.
