S.H.LIVE MUSIC WEEKEND
Foundry Hall, Black River Tavern, and SouthHavenLive.com present a full weekend of top-quality live music for audiences of all tastes and ages with their first "SHLive Music Weekend." Eight bands and solo artists will perform throughout the weekend, January 25-27, at both venues.

Friday, January 25, 7:30 pm: David Molinari and Creolization @ Foundry Hall - Grand Rapids songwriter David Molinari plays a unique blend of high energy, improvisational, Zydeco-influenced music with his band, Creolization. The band is made up of a revolving roster of West Michigan musicians performing Molinari's original songs - dressed up in accordion, washboard, and funky Louisiana backbeats. Tickets are $10, $8 for Foundry Hall members, or are available for a suggested donation after the show starts. (www.creolization.com)

Friday, January 26, 9:30 pm: Womack Family Band, Sean McDaniel @ Black River Tavern - Since their debut in 2010 The Womack Family Band has captivated audiences all over the eastern U.S. with their spot on three part vocal harmony, tight musicianship, and old soul songwriting. Their instrumentation includes guitar, mandolin, trumpet, trombone, upright bass and percussion. Calling on the spirit of The Beatles, The Band, Paul Simon, and James Taylor, the Womack Family Band combines the vibe of the 60's  70's songwriter with the roots of American folk, blues, jazz, country, and rock music. Sean McDaniel is a South Haven singer-songwriter, and former bassist for the popular funk-jam band, Me3Mind. (www.womackband.com)

Saturday, January 26, 7:30 pm: Mike Reeb, Womack Family Band, and special guest Andru Bemis @ Foundry Hall - Three exceptional musical acts from throughout the Midwest combine forces to create a roots/folk-rock/Americana concert showcasing their individual and collective talents. Mike Reeb is a full-time touring solo musician from Lafayette, Indiana. Throughout the Midwest, Mike has performed with Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Pug, Sleeping at Last, Bill Mallonee, Pete Krebs, Switchfoot, Denison Witmer, Elsinore, Derek Webb, and Company of Thieves. His music was featured in the movie Janie Jones, starring Abigail Breslin, and he's been a long-time collaborator in recordings and performances with Andru Bemis. Tickets are $12, $10 for Foundry Hall members, or are available for a suggested donation after the show starts. (www.mikereeb.com - www.andrubemis.com)

Saturday, January 26, 9:30 pm: Jake Simmons & the Little Ghosts @ Black River Tavern - Jake Simmons, one of two songwriting talents behind the excellent (but now defunct) Dead Scene Radio, is back. With a hand picked supporting cast and unapologetic swagger, Jake is taking his blend of punk, rock, country, pop and folk out of a southwest Michigan garage and into the Black River Tavern. With the Little Ghosts (essentially a complete motown-era rhythm machine) in lockstep, Jake's live show swings wildly from soulful acoustic ballads, to catchy doo-wop, to cascading sheets of caterwauling feedback. Sunday, January 27, 6:00 pm: Michael Bellar & the AS-IS Ensemble @ Foundry Hall - Enjoy complimentary soup, bread and drinks with one of the nation's most highly regarded alt-jazz ensembles. Keyboard virtuoso Michael Bellar has performed music on six continents but being a native of North Carolina, he stands by his slow, southern roots. Along with creating music and touring with his group, the AS-IS Ensemble, Michael has also toured and/or recorded with Amos Lee, Art Garfunkel, Howie Day, Wheatus, Jump Little Children, Teddy Geiger, Euro pop superstar Giorgia and Jay Clifford's Rosebud. His national TV appearances include Late Night with David Letterman, the Late Show with Conan O'Brien Show, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Ellen Degeneres Show, TRL, Good Morning America, Regis and Kelly and the CBS Morning Show. Michael has produced and scored music for CUT Music (LA), Fluid (NYC), Bang Music and Razorhead.
