Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival: Tasting Music IV
What better way to celebrate the final Tasting Music Event of the 2008 Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival than with Mozart? The String Quartet in G Major K. 387 is joined by wines from College Cellars of Walla Walla, the label of Walla Walla Community College's acclaimed Department of Enology and Viticulture. Mozart's String Quartet in G is one of his most joyous and playful works. Beneath the surface, however, Mozart is coming of age... This is not the work of a child prodigy, but of a mature artist in complete command of his creative resources. The quartet, a masterpiece in its own right, foreshadows the twin towers of his "Jupiter" Symphony No. 41 in C, and "The Magic Flute." WWCMF Founder and Artistic Director Timothy Christie will lead the discussion and performance of this work. Guests are invited to sample wines by College Cellars... Taste what happens when prodigies in wine emerge as artists.
