"Bill W and Dr. Bob", a play in two acts. This compelling and heart-wrenching story about a remarkable moment in human history. Bill wilson, a very successful stockbroker, and Dr. Bob Smith, a highly resected surgeon, find each other in the depths of their alcoholism and create what has been described by writer Scott Peck as "one of the greatest positive events of the twentieth century... Alcoholics Anonymous... the salvation of not only the alcoholic and the addict but all of us."
This dynamic story, laced with pathos and humor, will be included in a week-long focus on the disease of the alcoholism. Lectures and discussion throughout Jackson will culminate with the opening night of the play itself! What better way, but in the powerful story of these two icons of AA, to tell this story of a collaboration that has saved millions of lives across this country and the world? The play is a testament to grit and determination and the "at-all-cost" resolution that does not accept failure.
