Saturday, April 13th
1-4pm
Kepler's Books

Your book will be published. The only questions are when and how. San Francisco agent, author, and consultant Michael Larsen, AAR, will use a comprehensive, state-of-the-art, humor-filled talk to show you how to transform your career and your life. The class will be a writer's conference in three hours. You will learn:

Why now is the best time ever to be a writer
Why writers are the most important people in publishing
How the accelerating transformation of the industry empowers writers
How agents, editors, and publishers work
Why content is king, but a writer is the ace
How to make your work rejection-proof
How to set and commit to your literary and publishing goals
How to choose the best publishing option for you now
How to find the agent or publisher you need
How to reinvent yourself as a "contentpreneur"

You will receive more than twenty pages of valuable handouts.  You'll receive brief feedback on your idea, writing, proposal, or self-published book after the class at Kepler's. You're welcome to continue the conversation with Mike after the class at a no-host dinner at The Left Bank Restaurant - 5 minute walk from Kepler's.

Since 1972, Larsen-Pomada has sold hundreds of adult fiction and nonfiction books to more than 100
publishers and imprints. The agency is more eager than ever to find new writers. Mike handles non-fiction and is the author of the fourth edition of How to Write a Book Proposal, the third edition of How to Get a Literary Agent and coauthor of the second edition of Guerrilla Marketing for Writers: 100 Weapons for Selling Your Work. Mike and Elizabeth are co-directors of the San Francisco Writing for Change Conference,  San Francisco Writing for Change Conference, which will take place on Saturday, October 12th at the Unitarian Universalist Center, Geary and Franklin, and the San Francisco Writers Conference.
