Oliver!
THIS SHOW IS SOLD OUT - ALL PERFORMANCES. There may be limited tickets at the door for the Sunday matinee only!
San Francisco Waldorf High School's production of "Oliver!" is not what you might expect if you've seen the well-known show and are familiar with the ill-fitting top hats, grubby velvet breeches and standard Victorian garb. This production is set in modern times and while "London" is definitely suggested, the time and place have been left deliberately ambiguous. While "Oliver!" has its comedic moments and characters, the issues of child trafficking, violence, spousal abuse and hunger are still a part of our world, in fact, part of our city. By taking the play out of its original context, SFWHS hopes to draw attention to one of issues we can do something about, immediately; hunger. San Francisco Waldorf High School is partnering with the San Francisco Food Bank to help raise money, food and above all, awareness about the hungry in our own city. Come see this timeless classic and participate in supporting our students, the theater program and our goal of raising at least $500 and 250lbs of non-perishable food. A portion of the ticket proceeds goes to the food bank and ticket discounts are offered for donations of non-perishable foods at the door or at school offices. Our show features students from all 4 grades, sets painted by alumni artist Tyler Iorillo and the hard work of several of our community parents and alumni.
