Chez les Hotteterre - Cambridge
The Hotteterre family was extremely influential in the development of woodwind instruments in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The most famous of them, Jacques-Martin, was a talented flutist, important pedagogue and prolific composer for the instrument. Musical Offering's flutist Sarah Paysnick and harpsichordist Matthew Hall will present a recital featuring music by Hotteterre, his colleagues, and the virtuosos who followed in their footsteps at the French Court and Paris Grand Opera.
Program: Jacques-Martin Hotteterre "Le Romain" (16741763): Suite in G Major Op. 2, No. 3 (1708)
Francois Couperin (16681733): Second Ordre in d minor, Premier Livre de pieces (1713)
Michel Blavet (17001768): Sonata II in a minor "La Vibray," Sonates Melees de Pieces (1732)
