Taal Maya and the Mystery Orchestra
Taal Maya and the Mystery Orchestra is the manifestation of musical influences by composer and seven-stringed fretless bassist, Jason Everett. As part of his being named an Artist in Residence by the prestigious Seattle non-profit, Jack Straw Productions, Jason will be recording his next record live with notable master musicians including V. Selvaganesh, kanjira, konakol, and custom kit (Shakti with John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussein, Masters of Percussion); Trey Gunn, Warr Guitar (King Crimson, Robert Fripp); Radhika Iyer, seven-string electric violin; Anil Prasad, tabla; Rachel Nesvig, violin; Aleida Gherles, viola; and Phil Herschi, cello. This one-time-only concert will be a live performance of the compositions that were produced in the pervious days whirlwind process of meeting each other, learning the original compositions of Jason Everett, and then recording and performing them all within a week.
