Dublin Carol by Conor McPherson
FLY ON THE WALL THEATRE presents the Canadian Professional Premiere of Dublin Carol by Conor McPherson

"Respect is no good to you when youre gone.  If you dont earn it while youre alive, dont be looking for it just because youve happened to die"

Fly on the Wall Theatre continues its exploration of the works of acclaimed Irish playwright, Conor McPherson, with the Canadian professional premiere of Dublin Carol, Nov. 14-26, 2017, at Torontos Artscape Youngplace, 180 Shaw Street.

Dublin undertaker, John Plunkett, is a man haunted by his past  a past he would sooner forget. Its the morning of Christmas Eve and hes back in his office with his new assistant, after overseeing an early morning funeral.  Then an unexpected visit from his estranged daughter throws his daily routine into turmoil.  Its a visit that forces him to confront the ghosts of his past, and one that offers him a final opportunity to make things right.

"Can a play be both brutal and tender, as gentle as it is harsh?...such paradoxes seen utterly natural when describing McPhersons painfully beautiful Dublin Carola small treasure"
(Charles Isherwood, Variety)

Directed by Fly on the Walls Co-Artistic Producer, Rod Ceballos (cited by Now Magazine for Outstanding Direction/2013 Toronto Fringe), Dublin Carol features David Mackett (Port Authority and Cold Comfort with Fly on the Wall), James Wallis (Hamlet with Shakespeare BASHd); and Julia Nish-Lapidus (The Forest with Red One Collective/Storefront Theatre).  Patrick Brennan (Port Authority with Fly on the Wall) is the Set/Costume and Lighting Designer.
