Claims and the Claim Process - How to Avoid It
This seminar will explain how the claim and lawsuit process works. The entire claim process will be outlined from the first sign of a claim through its end. Then, through case examples, you will see how the process works. Along the way, risk management principles will be highlighted and a closed claim will be presented, allowing the attendee to learn how the principles can result in safer and better care, as well as the prevention of claims.
The session will allow attendees to:
Learn the claim process to better understand the system
Identify record keeping principles that can prevent or lessen the impact of claims
Review Informed Consent requirements to help patients better understand treatment
