Getsome Athletics And All aBout Derby Roller Derby Training
Mid Michigan Derby Girls are excited to bring the Getsome Athletics crew to Michigan!!

Getsome Athletics and All aBout Derby have combined forces to bring you the next step in Roller Derby Education.  Carmen Getsome and Shorty Ounce will be leading tons of new skating skills, derby drills, new rule derby strategies, and everything in between this will certainly be a camp a notch above the rest.

Tripp N Dale a founding member of ARROW Ref training crew will be running a weekend long referee training experience!

Carmen Getsome:

a 7 year Rat City Allstar member that has been voted by her leaguemates as MVP for the past five years in a row.  A hardworking athlete that has proven her skill and leadership by not only skating for the currently #6 in the world roller derby team but by starting a banked track team.  Carmen believes versatility is an important component to success so while you work with her at camp you will experience drills that resemble other sports and types of workouts that come together to not only improve your derby skills but your athleticism.

Shorty Ounce:

Recongized by her teammates last year as the Rat City Rollergirls Rookie of the year, Shorty Ounce is proof that powerful things come in small packages!

Shorty Ounce has coached all over the world! From Australia to North Carolina, she has taught people how to hold their walls together to help people put their weight in the proper place while blocking to improve their position on the floor as well as how to be an all around awesome blocker!!

Tripp N Dale:

Tripp started officiating roller derby in 2007 after deciding to get back into skating. In his teenage years, Tripp was a quad speed skater and after 20 years off the rink, he decided he missed skating and wanted to start again. His affiliate league, the Carolina Rollergirls, were looking for officials so Tripp joined and began as an NSO.
After 6 months of reffing,Tripp was voted in as the new Carolina Rollergirls head ref in 2008. He has been the head ref ever since that vote.
Tripp has officiated over 225 bouts, has performed every reffing position as well as most NSO positions in sanctioned bouts.
Tripp has also been involved in the WFTDA Big 5 Tournaments since 2008 as a skating official. He was Tournament Head Referee of Eastern Regionals in 2009 and 2010 (co-THR), and THR of Eastern Play-offs in 2012.
Tripp was elected co-THR of the 2010 Eastern Regionals along with Jeff da Ref.
Tripp has worked a total of 9 WFTDA Big 5 Tournaments in positions ranging from Stats to Penalty box manager to Crew Head Ref.
In 2012, Tripp became the first referee to advance all the way from a Level 2 certification to a Level 5 certification.
Tripp is a founding member of ARROW and has been involved in discussions since day one. He is very proud of the ARROW leadership and looks forward to ARROW becoming a vital part of roller derby in all forms, all over the world.
