08yrs+ Blacksmithing with Matt from Abundant Durham
If you are looking for an excuse to heat things up and hit them with a hammer then why not try your hand at the craft of Blacksmithing.
Using a charcoal powered forge, and the strength of your hammer arm you will create a beautifully crafted metal object. Matt has been forging with kids and adults alike for 20 years.
Come and create either a coat hook or a bottle opener from reclaimed steel bar on a hand powered charcoal forge . You will learn how to heat the steel to temperatures of up to 800 degrees and how to shape it to your design.
Single children, parent and child or adults can take part. Suitable for 8yrs to 100yrs.
