The River Clyde Pageant: Wake the River Clyde!
A year has passed and three children of New Glasgow have packed their bags, with plans to leave their home on the River Clyde. Overwhelmed by the river's environmental challenges, they are heading off in search of clearer waters, and are making one last trip to the riverbank before they go. At the water's edge, they meet the Singing Oysterman, who urges them to travel once more along the river to say goodbye to their old friends: the herons, trolls, foxes, mermaids and other magical creatures they met on last year's journey. This is the River Clyde Pageant: Wake the River Clyde.
Directed by Ker Wells and Megan Stewart, The River Clyde Pageant is created and performed by local artists and community members from New Glasgow, Charlottetown and across the island. It is inspired by the history, mythology and contemporary environmental issues associated with PEI rivers and waterways. It celebrates the spirit, strength and imagination of the local community.
The River Clyde Pageant is ADMISSION BY DONATION. You can donate when booking your tickets, or prior to the performances. You may also donate at the end of the performances on July 29, 30 and August 4, 5, 6.
There are five shows only, and audience members must reserve a spot online PRIOR to the performances, as tickets are limited. No tickets will be sold at the door.
