What makes you laugh? And why is it funny? Do you guffaw when Moe hits Curly over the head with a wrench, or is the witty, urbane comedy of Woody Allen or Whit Stillman more your style? And is there anything universally funny?

Well pose this question to a cognitive neuroscientist on Friday, August 18 at Think Science: Humor. Join us as we hear from Scott Weems, author of Ha! The Science of When We Laugh and Why. Scott will join us via Skype to talk about what happens inside our noggin when we see or hear something funny, and why people react in different ways to different types of humor. We may even watch a few film clips ourselves for some informal humor polls!

Youll get a chance to ask your questions, too, at this free event at the Pearl Studio. Box lunches from Spice of Life Catering will be available for $5.
