Architecture + Spirits: at Cane Land in Baton Rouge
We're doing a little spin off our popular Architecture & Ales, this time sampling spirits at Cane Land. We've got a fantastic speaker lineup: Natalie Mead of Preserve Louisiana and Jay Dardenne, Commissioner of Administration.
Baton Rouge Preservation: Wins and Losses of the Past 50 Years. In this presentation, Natalie Mead takes a close look at preservation wins and losses throughout the city of Baton Rouge in the last 50 years. There will be numerous historic photos in the presentation and additional iconic images of Baton Rouges most well-known buildings, extant and long since gone. As Director of Education and Museum Curator for Preserve Louisiana, Mead works with docents, volunteers, staff, Preserve Louisiana members, and tourism officials.
Jay Dardenne will be bringing his witty, humorous anecdotes of Louisianas past to the event. A master storyteller, Jay brings to life Louisianas most illustrious citizens, infamous locales, and engaging stories. Currently the Commissioner of Administration, Jay previously served two terms as Louisianas Lieutenant Governor, and fifteen years as a State Senator.
