METHODOLOGIES IN BODY ART
A free symposium as part of the Live Art Development Agencys DIY+ programme
For artists interested in pain and body-based practices, as well as the de-stigmatisation of consensual sadomasochistic activities, personal safety is vital.
For this free symposium, artists Sheree Rose, Rhiannon Aarons, Amy Kingsmill will be joined by guest speaker Martin OBrien in a safe space where open dialogue on extreme ideas related to the bodily construct of the subject can be shared without judgment. Together with attendees, they will investigate issues of consent, safety and risk management within these extreme performance practices.
This symposium invites interested public into one part of a longer weekend workshop, part of the Live Art Development Agencys DIY+ programme of professional development projects by artists, for artists. It is generously supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
