Brown Paper Tickets is proud to unveil another way to give to causes we care about: the Artist Ticket Program!
This inaugural round of Artist Tickets will feature artwork by nationally recognized artists Ellen Forney and Jim Woodring and will raise funds for the victims' families and the lone survivor of the Cafe Racer shootings that took place on May 30, 2012, claiming five victims and impacting everyone involved in the Seattle artistic community.
Forney and Woodring were deeply ingrained in the Cafe Racer community and generously donated original artwork to be imprinted on each Artist Ticket.
In recognition of the six month anniversary of this tragedy and in celebration of this amazing program, Cafe Racer and Brown Paper Tickets are throwing a launch party at Cafe Racer on Thursday, December 13, 2012. The launch party will feature musicians and performance artists that had a direct connection to those that were lost as a result of this tragedy.
Ellen and Jim will also give readings from their current books and will be present at the event to personally sign your Artist Ticket. Artist Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event, for those unable to purchase one online.*
Cover for this event is "pay-what-you-can" and all proceeds will go directly to the Victims of the Cafe Racer Shooting Memorial Fund. There is a $10 suggested entry fee but pay what you can afford or pay more if you can.
Six months later, there's still a lot of healing to do and your contributions will help ease the burden for those that lost their loved ones or were injured as a result of this tragedy.
The MC for the evening will be Seattle's effervescent hostess Sylvia O'Stayformore
